Jordan Hall

Playwright and dramaturg, Jordan’s recent writing credits include: Red (Brave New Playwrights 2010, Walking Fish 2010); The Second Last Man on Earth (Monkeyman Productions 2010); Kayak (Summerworks 2010, FemFest 2010, WPI Mumbai 2009, Shortlisted: Kernodle Playwriting Competition, Winner: Best Adult Fiction, Bridge to a Cool Planet); Asleep at the Wheel (New Ideas 2009, Big Ideas 2008); and June, 2007 (Prairie Fire Press), which received honourable mention for the Bliss Carman poetry prize. Recent dramaturgical credits include Oyster Productions’ The Trial of Jeremy Hinzman; Keystone Theatre’s Belle of Winnipeg; Oyster Production’s Talk Sixty to Me (Summerworks 2008), Head of Dramaturgy for the 2008 New Ideas Festival; and Oyster’s verbatim/documentary hit Talk Thirty to Me (Toronto Fringe 2007). Jordan has trained with such Canadian luminaries as Colleen Wagner, Brian Quirt and Linda Griffiths, and with New York’s Theatre of the Emerging American Moment. Jordan holds a B.A. from McMaster, an M.A. from York, and is currently pursuing an MFA at UBC. Jordan is a member of both LMDA and PGC (Associate) and works to assist emerging writers both as a consultant for UBC’s Booming Ground program and as a freelance dramaturg and script doctor.
